White Sox Homw Opener Snowed Out

Word has come down that due to predicted snow, cold, and high winds the home opener at US Celluar has been moved to Tuesday. I wonder how many of the players will join in the fun these Mariners are having ...
The joys of spring in the Midwest.

Stayin' Alive ... White Sox take game 3

Behind a great performance by John Danks the White Sox live to fight another day. To be honest, I think that the matchups favor the Sox from here on out. We'll see this afternoon.

A few questions for the Sox as the series begins...

  • Will the Siox get past the "just happy to be here" syndrome?
  • Can they find a way to win a game in a dome?
  • will the veteran experience overcome some of the speed of the Rays?
  • Does anyone remember that Ozzie was a Ray?
  • Will the blackouts continue when the Sox come back to town?
  • Will they still be in this series when they come back?
  • Can Vasquez keep the game in check for the Sox to have a chance?
  • Does Alexi Ramirez have more "hero moments" in that bat?

WE SHALL SEE THIS AFTERNOON...

The dream is alive...

After last night's thrilling 1-0 victory over the Twins, the White Sox have claimed the final spot in the 2008 playoffs.
While the road to the World Series is most definately a rough one for the Sox, the dream of a cross town Series is alive.
The blackout by the Sox fand was one of the coolest things I have seen in a while in a baseball stadium and I can see it becoming a tradition.

The White Sox kept their post season hopes and the hopes of the city of Chicago for a crosstown World Series alive on Monday. Only to have to go to battle today for a one game, winner take all, playoff against the Twinkies. Lets go SOX!

An Athlete to root and pray for...

In THIS article we see that young up and coming star Josh Fields is willing to quit if it does not put him where God wants him. This is refreshing and someone I can point my sons to who is living the right way in the midst of great success. Here is a quote from the article:

"When I got my first taste of the big leagues in 2006, it was everything that I had dreamed about," Fields said. "But the further I got into my professional career, the more I had to deal with everything else that goes along with being a professional athlete. There were so many things going on in the clubhouse that I really questioned if professional baseball was for me. However, I prayed about it and realized there is nowhere I could have more influence
right now than in that clubhouse."
